September 13-15th 2024 at the Mountain Club’s hut Bryn Hafod, situated under the crags of Cwm Cywarch, high above the village of Dinas Mawddwy, a few miles East of Dolgellau. The hut is at the Western end of the Aran range with options for out and back ridge walks or with the use of a car, a linear traverse of the whole range from Llyn Bala. Craig Cywarch is just above the hut and although many of the routes may be considered to be somewhat esoteric there are classics to be found, notably Will o’the Wisp, VD, Babylon and the magnificent Doom at VS and Sweet Baby James at HVS, enough to fill a weekend. The Mountain Club has been carrying out a programme of cleaning that should make access easier. There is also scope for mountain biking in the local area.

The hut is only accessible on foot, about a 400m walk from the car park. On no account must the farm track be used either by car or on foot. This link opens a detailed description and map of the approach. Anyone worried about carrying their gear up can be sure of assistance from other members. We have 18 places reserved but it may be possible to secure more if required. To begin with, 9 places are allocated to each club but this can be adjusted according to need. Chris Hilton is running the meet and there will be food available on the Friday evening, although the Red Lion in Dinas Mawddwy does meals if preferred.
