In May, we usually have a week-long meet to either Scotland or Ireland. Usually blessed with little rain and no midges, we have explored much of the Scottish highlands and islands, with trips across the Irish Sea to Donegal, Connemara, Kerry, the Wicklows and the Mournes in recent years.
In 2019, we returned to the SMC’s Naismith hut in Elphin in the NW highlands for a fantastic week in Sutherland including a traverse of Suilven, and various Corbetts and Munros including An Teallach. This image is the peerless view down to Dubh and Fionn Lochs from a big day out to climb Ruadh Stac Mor and A’ Mhaighdean, considered to be the most remote Munro.
