Ian Hawkes, John Sutcliffe and Mick Borroff have been out for a few day outings recently. A visit to The North York Moors found us assembling at the Square Corner car park near Omotherley, bagging the last three places (it was a Sunday), for a round of Black Hambleton, Kepwick Moor, Silton and Thimbleby woods returning via Oak Dale.
Next up was another Sunday walk around upper Nidderdale from the lay-by near the Stean turning near Lofthouse, which was surprisingly empty. We followed the Nidderdale Way, crossing the Scar Reservoir dam and up the beginning of In Moor Lane, where we had lunch. Looking down on the card park, it was rammed with some 75+ cars (and no toilets). Rather than continue along the track to Middlesmoor, we took a more interesting route down to Armathwaite Gill which was then followed to Stean for a socially distanced cappucino at the How Stean Gorge cafe.
Get in touch if you fancy joining us for a day.
