Alpine Meets
Between 1987 and 1993 the YRC published six individual Alpine Meet Reports. Outside that period, accounts of meets to alpine regions were included in the Journal. These reports typically contain details of all activities undertaken by members such as mountain walks and via ferrata ascents, not just classical mountaineering routes.

Mountain Meets
This is a list of reports of YRC meets to non-alpine mountain areas which include details of a wide variety of activities undertaken by members. These meets include winter/spring sun trips to warmer climes.
- 1995 Picos de Europa – climbing and walking in rugged limestone mountains in northern Spain.
- 1995 Mallorca – walking in the lovely mountainous northern part of the island based in Puerto Pollensa.
- 2001 Slovenia, Julian Alps – mountain walking and scrambling around Triglav.
- 2002 France, Pyrenees – climbing and mountain walking, centred in Laruns.
- 2003 Ireland, Clare – hillwalking and caving in the limestone of the Burren on the West coast from a base in Doolin.
- 2004 USA, California High Sierras – climbing on superb granite and hiking amongst jagged mountains and jewel-like lakes.
- 2004 Italy, Sardinia – walking among the delightful spring flowers in the hills and mountains of the island.
- 2005 Italy, Dolomites – via ferrata and mountain walking in the most beautiful mountains and centred in Campitello de Fassa.
- 2006 USA, California, Yosemite valley and Sierra Nevada – spectacular climbing and another group backpacking on the High Sierra trail.
- 2007 Ireland, Donegal – hillwalking and scrambling in the Blue Stacks and coastal mountains.
- 2007 France, Corsica – scrambling on the GR-20, the famous test-piece along the island’s mountainous northern spine.
- 2009 Morocco, Anti-Atlas – trad climbing, scrambling and mountain walking based in Tafraout.
- 2010 USA, California, Yosemite valley – one group climbing and hiking with an ascent of Mt. Whitney and another walking parts of the John Muir Trail.
- 2011 France, Haute Savoie – mountain walking and climbing in the Chablais from a base in Bernex.
- 2012 Ireland, Connemara – hillwalking and climbing in the Twelve Bens.
- 2014 Spain, Costa Blanca – based in Calpe for climbing, scrambling and mountain walking in the spring sun.
- 2015 Spain, Almeria – winter sun with caving and hiking in southern Spain and snow on the Sierra de Maria.
- 2015 Northern Ireland – for the classic round of the superb granite Mountains of the Mourne, which really do sweep down to the sea.
- 2016 France, Savoie, Beaufortain – mountain walking and via ferrata from Beaufort-sur-Doron.
- 2017 France, Jura – Snowshoeing on the ridges and summits on both sides of the Franco-Swiss border from Les Rousses.
- 2017 Spain, Andalucia – spring sun in Spain with climbing, via ferrata, canyoning and mountain walking from El Chorro.
- 2017 USA, Wyoming, Wind River Range – total solar eclipse, rock climbing and trekking.
- 2018 Ireland, Kerry – hillwalking in the MacGillicuddy’s Reeks and including Carrauntoohil from a base in Cahersiveen.
- 2018 Spain, Costa Blanca – based in Calpe for climbing, scrambling and mountain walking in the sun.
- 2018 Romania, Apuseni and Retezat Mountains – visited two very different areas for hillwalking, caving and mountaineering.
- 2019 Spain, Sierra Nevada – climbing, scrambling and mountaineering including two-day ascent of Mulhacen (3479m) based in Lanjaron at the foot of the Alpujarras.
- 2019 Italy, Dolomites – climbing, scrambling, via ferrata, hiking and mountain biking based in Arabba.
- 2020 Morocco Anti-Atlas – trad climbing, scrambling and mountain hiking based in Tafraout.
- 2022 Spain, Costa Blanca – based in Moraira for little climbing, no scrambling and some mountain and coastal walking on the wettest Spanish meet ever, with no sunshine!
- 2023 Northern Portugal, Penedes-Gerês National Park – hillwalking, scrambling and via ferrata based in Campo do Gerês with sunshine every day.
- 2023 Ireland, Wicklow Mountains – a week of walking and mountain biking in sun and no rain from a base in Glendalough.
- 2024 Morocco Anti-Atlas – a week trad climbing, scrambling and mountain walking from a base in Tafraout followed by a second week’s trek to summit Jebel Siroua (3305m).
- 2024 Bolivia, Cordillera Real – a guided trekking/mountaineering trip climbing several mountains culminating in an ascent of Huayna Potosi 6,080 m.
Ski-tours in the Nordics
This a list of multi-day ski-tours in Norway or Svalbard undertaken as either hut-to-hut or camping trips.
- 2010 Svalbard, Nordenskiöld Land – traversed on ski with pulks while making a few ascents.
- 2017 Norway, North of Lillehammer – hut-to-hut cross-country ski tour.
- 2019 Norway, Eastern Jötunheim-Rondane – cross-country hut-to-hut ski tour.
- 2022 Norway, West of Lillehammer, Langsua National Park – hut-to-hut cross-country ski tour.
Treks
This is a list of YRC trekking meet reports, several of these encompassed mountaineering objectives.
- 1995 Nepal, Jugal Himal and Naya Kanga – a trek from Helambu into Langtang during which members climbed Naya Kanga (5846m) from the Ganja La.
- 1998 Iceland – backpacking trek partially on snowshoes with an ascent of Hvannadalshnoekur (2119m).
- 1997 Nepal, Rolwaling – a team climbed trekking peaks Ramdung (5930m) and Parcharmo (6273m) as part of a trek with mountaineering objectives.
- 1997 Nepal, Khumbu – a second trekking group climbed Gokyo Ri (5360m), Kala Pattar (5643m) and Chukung Ri (5559m).
- 2001 Morocco, Western High Atlas – trek with scrambling ascents of Moulay Ali (3333m), Imradene (3351m) and other summits around the rim of the Titchka Plateau.
- 2005 India, Ladakh Range – a trek from Leh into the Nubra valley with ascents of Samgyal (5814m) and Dawa (5900m) peaks.
- 2007 Bhutan – a little-travelled trek through the Bhutan Himalaya to Chomolhari Base Camp.
- 2009 Sikkim – trek to the Goeche La (4949m) and the Singalila Ridge with fabulous views of the SE face of Kanchenjunga.
- 2010 Bolivia, Quimsa Cruz Range – trek spiced up with the odd rock climb.
- 2012 Nepal, Mera Himal – trek and ascent of Mera (6476m), Nepal’s highest trekking peak.
- 2013 Malawi, Mulanje Plateau – the “Island in the Sky” hut-to-hut trek scrambling all but one of the main peaks.
- 2014 Peru, Chachapoyas – camping trek with an archaeological theme.
- 2015 Bulgaria, Pirin Mountains – several multi-day hut-to-hut tours with scrambling ascents including Vihren (2914m) and the Koncheto ridge.
- 2016 Morocco, Jebel Sarhro – camping trek with some scrambling ascents.
- 2016 Nepal, Dolpo – Upper Dolpo to Lower Mustang traverse – a remote camping trek via Phoksumdo Tal and Shey Gompa with four passes over 5000m.
- 2018 Nepal, Kanchenjunga – South & North Base Camps trek, certainly one of the most beautiful hikes in the world.
- 2022 France, Eastern Pyrenees, Massif du Canigou – hut-to-hut tour with a scrambling ascent of Canigou.
- 2024 Morocco Anti-Atlas – camping trek to summit Jebel Siroua (3305m) the highest peak in the Anti-Atlas.
