7-9th February 2025 at Ty Powdwr, the Karabiner Mountaineering Club’s hut in Dinorwig, near Llanberis. Situated above the ancient forests that rise above Llyn Padarn, Ty Powdwr was originally the black powder store for the nearby abandoned Llanberis quarries. It provides easy access to Elidir Fawr and the Glyders as well as fascinating explorations around the quarry workings and forests. The other Eryri ranges are a short drive away. For those wanting to visit the fleshpots of an evening, Llanberis can be reached in about 25 minutes on foot although the return up a steep hill may take somewhat longer.

A 5 mph speed limit should be observed on the private track leading to the hut. The gates at each end of the farm section of the track (both have a kissing gate) should be left closed, even if they are open when you arrive at them. Please show considerate behaviour around Sally Brown’s farm with whom the KMC shares the track by not disturbing her at any time.
